Beautiful capture Peter! All our wild poppies here in California are orangish yellow so these red ones seem so striking! I love how these flowers seem to almost animate by stepping into the background in the upper right corner.

Thanks Richard. So pleased you noticed the corner detail. I remember one of my photography mentors taking the trouble to change my thinking for the better about framing and composition. He was basically saying trust your eye; take what the camera gives you, which advice has served me well ever since.
