Victoria Gardens

Tewkesbury is worthy of careful study and exploration. The more time I spend wandering around the town, the more interesting it becomes. There are tranquil places behind the main thoroughfare which hide behind the architectural facades of the main street. The river meanders gently past the bottom of Victoria Gardens. This sanctuary dates from the very end of the nineteenth century.

I sat at one of its picnic benches this afternoon, absorbed in the almost meditative process of quickly sketching an angular roofline, simply because I could. It was a therapeutic exercise. With just a pen and paper there’s no technology to trigger tantrums. I wish I could say the same for computers. This one isn’t letting me type today, and when it does, it isn’t saving my work. My Pentel simply drew, continuously and effortlessly.
