There are some fun photo apps out there. I find one or two of them bring welcome respite from the time-consuming intensity of manipulating pictures with digital image ediing software.
Hipstamatic is one example of a simple, easy-to-use app which promises the feel of an old-fashioned film camera. It delivers too. With it I can quickly choose from a range of interchangeable lenses and film types. Combinations of these produce photographs which simulate snapshots from bygone ages of amateur photography.
There's no messing about: you get what the camera gives you. The results are often surprising. The creative possibilities are liberating, stimulating, exciting. The power of the pocket computer is fast becoming the power of empowering.
