Today is the first anniversary of moving into The Tree House. I am still discovering how the changing seasons modify the light which floods into the kitchen from the roughly south-facing window. In the mornings this week it has been bouncing off the sill from some shiny white ceramic tiles, then up onto more of them on the wall behind the cooker.
A bunch of Basil, a teapot and an air plant signed their signature shadows in this picture, while the gas hob obligingly squeezed three of it’s four burners into frame for me.
How time flies!

There is a detachment in B&W that colour never seems to obtain.

I really like the shadows cast onto an otherwise plain white tile wall...gives it some character. It's funny though how only three burners made it into the picture :-)
What's an air plant?

Kt: fugit!
Lee: true. But wot's the psychology and/or physiology involved?
Donna: it takes it food from the host it grows on, for example a piece of dead wood, and gets its water from moisture in the air, like dew. Ideal for those who can't be bothered with much maintenance. A quick spray of mist occasionally will do.
